Bead Soup Party Reveal AND Giveaway
A very earthly selection with blue crystals…blues, browns, ecrus…nice! (see more pictures here) Unusual for me as I do more colorful and lampwork and sterling silver Jewellery. Unfortunately, when Wire wrapping the handcrafted pendant, here’s what happened:
N o t g r e a t.
So I had to rethink my piece ( using one of Rach’s lentil beads as pendant) and came up with TWO pieces. Hope you like…

I made all the copper links myself. Not bad considering I’d never used copper before in my life.
And added a cute little porcelaine birdie..

‘Copper Bird Song Necklace’
and my second piece…
A Vintage Find : Operation Transformation (part 2)
Ok, you will not believe what happened….(see post below for part 1) I was happily getting ready for that wedding on saturday afternoon : put on my makeup, put the dress on, got Dylan ready. My favorite part is when you put the final touch on, the accessories. I was really looking forward to dress up with my lovely dress. So I just bent down to pick up something on the floor and squooooooooooooooeeeek. The zip was w i d e o p e n . OMG! What am I going to do?!
After a lot of efforts, my husband David managed to put the zip back together. But really, if it happened once, could I ever trust this evil zipper again?? Imagine it happened during the ceremony…I had these horrid visions of my dress opening up for everyone to see :O
Anyway, as it stayed in place and knowing that I had a trench coat on ‘just in case’ I got in the car. Not even out of the drive way, the zip failed me again. That was it! Had to get changed (fortunately, I had brought another dress with me). Guted, so I was. But all accessories matched the other dress. Which was real comfy and in the end, it all worked out.
Still a bit annoyed I couldn’t wear my dress. But eh! I can get it fixed and wear it again some day.
Here are the accessories I made :
Swarovski crystal rondelles in 3 different sizes set in sterling silver with sterling silver. (sold)
My cute satin turquoise bow on headband. I made it all myself and was so proud to wear it. Forgot to take pics on the day though!
My fanciful fascinator…first one I’ve ever made, using scraps from my dress, felt, tulle and swarovski crystals on a tiny comb. It was an option B so in the end I didn’t wear it. Still had a great time making it!
Bracelet made with the beads I got from the petite bead box swap a few weeks back. The colours were absolutely perfect for the dress.
This is my first ever clutch using satin. Just used an A3 sheet as a template for an enveloppe style handbag. Added a flat ruffle and a handle. Looks dead easy like that by as I had never done anything like this before, it took me ages. There’s even a poket in the lining woohoo!
David, Dylan and I on the day

My BSP set revealed…+ Giveaway to celebrate
Here it is at last! I m
ust say that I quite like the result… I would specially like to thank my BSP partner, Sonja for sending me such an array of colourful beads. At first I was like ‘Oh,my, goodness.I don’t even know where to start’ .You see, the way I work is like I start with a couple of beads or a colour palette. And then, I just let it take me to wherever the creativity will take me. And I add as I go. So even though it was a personal challenge , I gladly welcomed it and dearly enjoyed it :)
I wouldn’t be what you call a ‘necklace person’ but I just had to go for it! It is not a complex looking piece and yet is sophisticated (Well, I’d like to think so anyway). I hope the photos will speak volumes… Please after you have a wee look at my finished pieces, don’t forget to participate to my first ever giveaway on this new blog…I’d love it if you could participate, it’s quick and easy. See post below…
Now, Have a look. I hope you do like it…:)

Not making the most of such a gorgeous day (which doesn’t happen often in Ireland) would have been a crime and so it was decided that the pics would be taken outdoors
I hope you like the earrings as much as I do. I used the cord from the kit to make the tiny bows. Was tricky! I’m afaid I’ having a bit of a bow fever at the moment :) Everything’s got to come with bows! lol The glass pearls have been wire wrapped and match the center or the necklace where I added jump rings to ‘cap’ the pearls on each side.

Thanks for looking! If you like the blog, don’t hesitate to follow, I love comments and do post eye candy regularly (I promise :))
And have a look at the giveaway!
Smiles, Virginie ^_^

Getting into a sticky place : with Resin
A few weeks back, I got a resin starter kit. I had been wanting it for weeks and weeks and I had read a bit on the subject a bit. The sky’s the limit with that kind of medium and I’m sure I’m really going to enjoy it once I get really into it. At the moment I haven’t been able to do much as Baby is teething. Which means he screams the house down during the night… He doesn’t get much sleep and neither do we. Needless to say that during the day we’re both like grumpy old men…:(
In any case, here’s what I got :
So here’s the party pack that I got from anniehowes.etsy.com. It is a great starter pack as you’ve got everything you need to make either a glass pendant, scrabble tile pendant, a magnet or a ring. Plus, it’s very well presented! And it does help when it looks good
There’s a lot of japanese papers to choose from and everything you need to finish up your mini piece of art…A real treat!
So at the moment I’m going to stick to pressies, but you never know, I might sell a few in the future. I’ve started to be on the look out for cute pictures and images that I could alter and basically make mine… We’ll see I guess.
For now here’s a sneak peak of a pendant that I’m going to offer to a friend of mine. It’s a very straight forward process and not much creativity is involved but it’s a first and I do hope she likes it…
It’s all made with love…^_^
