Newly listed

Lately I’ve been trying to list a few items in the boutique…Not necessarily items that I made recently, but rather earrings and stuff that I have made a few months back and that I never got a chance to take pictures of due to my old camera being a real nightmare to operate.

but NOW I own a great camera (anniversary presents from my mum,dad and siblings) and the battery lasts more than 15 mins- Isn’t great!?

Having said, it doesnt necessarily make me a professional photographer, so still have to work on it.

Here’s the couple of items I’ve been listing recently

Midnight Russian Doll earrings with bow

Midnight russian dolls earrings

Mini Cup Cakes lipstick holder

Romantic roses lipbalm case and Mini cupcakes lipbalm case

Polka dots and bow Russian doll cameo earrings

Last weekend I’ve been really busy making dolls (one was a custom order), hope to show you some pics next time…

New accessories in the boutique

I made these cosmetic bags and such ages ago, but unfortunately I haven’t been really sewing in the past few weeks: sleep deprivation, tiredness and being busy have come in between my sewing machine and me. However, I do hope you like these…

Check out this cute gnomes cosmetic pouch with a rounded ege, topped with bright pompoms, it’s just too cute:)

matching cosmetic pouch and mini jewelry holder, perfect for a week-end getway

The pictures really don’t do this pouch justice, it looks really classy and the Marie-Antoinette applique includes wee diamantes. Also a fleur-de-lys applique at the back

Darling earrings

I have been concocting little darling earrings. Unfortunately the bad light (combined with the battery-hungry-monster-camera of mine) is still a major annoying factor for me. I hope to scrape some money and get a new camera soon. For the moment though, that will have to do….*sigh*..

I  still think they’re as cute as a button though lol. In the boutique in the next couple of days hopefully. And don’t forget to check out the blog on saturday, as it will be the big Bead Soup Party reveal AND a I shall have a GIVEAWAY!

Thanks for looking as always and stay tuned ^_^

When crafters buy from other crafters:buy handmade everyone!

This is great when that happens. Buying handmade from artisans or crafters is brillant because  it’s all made with love and care.

I’ve had a recent custom order from Fiona who owns the etsy boutique patchworkdelights and I was delighted I was able to do a revisited remake of  a pair of lampwork earrings. Here’s a picture of the unfinished earrings with a slight colour variation…

and the finished version…

‘Amethyst Season 2′

Artisan lampwork beads,sterling silver,bali silver,swarovski crystals

Also, I custom ordered a few weeks back now ( I meant to post about it for ages) a gorgeous jewelry roll. I fell in love with a cafetiere that Fiona made, but I wanted a jewelry holder.

French Press Cosy / Cafetiere Cosy - Irish Seller

So even though I could have made one myself, I loved the extorior design and asked her if she could make me one.

I love the way she beaded the cupcakes and quilted around them! Thanks Fi!! It seems we have the same tastes in a lot of things : love quilting and sewing, same background fabric here, same polka dot fabric, got grey linen at the same time. Overall, love her style, go and check out her shop, tea cosy still available…

Also if you could take the buy handmade pledge here, that’d be great, so we can all support artisans and crafters, especially in this time of recession. Thanks everyone!

New earrings in the shop

It’s been ages since I listed lampwork earrings. The reason being that lately I have been looking more into improving my sewings skills. Having little time with a toddler hanging on my skirt, I naturally can’t do it all. So my latest experiments have been more ‘fabric related’ than lampwork and jewellery related. Another reason is  that the lampwork beads I purchase are quite dear because I want artisanship, uniqueness and quality. So since I have invested a bit of money in the sewing side of things, can’t do everything!

However I had to re-order beads for a customer who wanted a matching necklace (completely forgot to  take a pic)  to the earrings she already had. So I thought I might as well buy an extra pair and list them in the shop since ladies seem to like the style, sterling silver, estate style swarovski crystals and artisan lampwork…

Soon to come, new style earrings in the shop…

A Vintage Find : Operation Transformation (part 2)

Ok, you will not believe what happened….(see post below for part 1) I was happily getting ready for that wedding on saturday afternoon : put on my makeup, put the dress on, got Dylan ready. My favorite part is when you put the final touch on, the accessories. I was really looking forward to dress up with my lovely dress. So I  just bent down to pick up something on the floor and squooooooooooooooeeeek. The zip was w i d e  o p e n . OMG! What am I going to do?!

After a lot of  efforts, my husband David managed to put the zip back together. But really, if it happened once, could I ever trust this evil zipper again?? Imagine it happened during the ceremony…I had these horrid visions of my dress opening up for everyone to see :O

Anyway, as it stayed in place and knowing that I had a trench coat on ‘just in case’ I got in the car. Not even out of the drive way, the zip failed me again. That was it! Had to get changed (fortunately, I had brought another dress with me). Guted, so I was. But all accessories matched the other dress. Which was real comfy and in the end, it all worked out.

Still a bit annoyed I couldn’t wear my dress. But eh! I can get it fixed and wear it again some day.

Here are the accessories I made :

Swarovski crystal rondelles in 3 different sizes set in sterling silver with sterling silver. (sold)

My cute satin turquoise bow on headband. I made it all myself and was so proud to wear it. Forgot to take pics on the day though!

My fanciful fascinator…first one I’ve ever made, using scraps from my dress, felt, tulle and swarovski crystals on a tiny comb. It was an option B so in the end I didn’t wear it. Still had a great time making it!

Bracelet made with the beads I got from the petite bead box swap a few weeks back. The colours were absolutely perfect for the dress.

This is my first ever clutch using satin. Just used an A3 sheet as a template for an enveloppe style handbag. Added a flat ruffle and a handle. Looks dead easy like that by as I had never done anything like this  before, it took me ages. There’s even a poket in the lining woohoo!

David, Dylan and I on the day

Off to new shores

I always enjoy packing up one of my little creations to send it to new horizons…It actually means someone likes it enough to buy it, which I find is exhilirating! lol I know some people get blazee about the whole thing ”Argh…an other trip to the post office”. Seriously, how can you?? I hope that I make many many trips to An Post ^_^

These are my French OUI NON silver plated earrings. I will probably offer them again in the shop. I have recently reduced my shipping rates on all earrings AND free shipping on any lampwork bracelets…For a limited period of time only…

I make my own little jewellery bags…Had to make a lot of them recently actually

and I always include a mini ViviBijoux voucher…

Soon I will be talking about the craft market I attended some time ago  now. But I was away and Dylan was sick and so on, so didn’t get a chance to show you the pics.

talk you you ;)

Just about time for these

With a Craft Fair coming up on the 28th July, a Quilt to finish (which I’ll be showing you soon), custom orders (previous articles), a bead swap to send off soon (Petite bead box swap, scroll down to view  post), and a teething baby who just started to crawl at the week-end….-wow, just talking about it is exhausting!- Well, I’ve had just about time to finish these lovelies, and I hope you like them :

‘Wednesday butterfly’ in reference to a friend who loves anything butterfly ;)

It’s all sterling silver and I opted for a spring like feel for my choice of swarovskis hues : Rose, Rosaline, Peridot, Erinite & Chrysoline

The ball post earrings go really well on this pair as it falls and balances just right on the ear.

After cheer beauty, some cheekyness please! With that pair of ‘Oui, non, Mademoiselle’ everyone will be admiring your style : Featuring a metal bow (You know I’m having a bow fever right :) ), and silver plated hooks and charms

Simply delicious…

Soon to come on my Etsy shop

My english rose earrings

Some time ago, a friend of mine had a wee look at my beads and fell in love with a couple of handmade etched lampwork beads: the colour, an old english rose pink, probably brought back memories…Colours can often do that.

So as we had previously done for an old pair of earrings, she wanted to choose the components for these beads she loved so much, and I would make the earrings for her. It was then decided that she would go for swarovski AB rondelles crystals and bali silver daisy spacers…

(The colour shown here is not well reflected due to bad light, see next pics for a real likeness of that gorgeous pink)

I made the hooks myself with sterling silver (always with handcrafted lampwork) as she likes to wear wide earrings hooks which are more comfortable on her. Plus with sterling silver she’s less prone to allergic reactions.

Then proceeded to put all the bead components together…

and Voila! Now I can only hope she’ll like them and find them comfy to wear. Off to pack them up, a gorgeous gift box always feels like a treat, even when treating oneself. Right?!

A little thank you gift for a friend…

With all that exitement from the bead soup party since last week end, I’m spending way too much time on the computer. But eh! it’s only for a few days and all 97 of us are enjoying leaving and receiving lots and lots of comments. Let’s keep them coming!

I found a moment to finish a little something for a friend who has been extremely generous since my baby’s birth and who’s been sending lots of presents from Nothern Ireland (I used to live there for a few months) so I made a card and joined a pair of earrings… Just wanted to share it with you…

Silver plated earrings featuring an irridescent cultured pearl and aqua marine chips

Card made using cream small ribbon and paper from Docraft’s ‘ Rose Garden’ kit

All packed up and ready to ship…with a touch of soft spring green, rose polka dot and a cute little tag…
